Whether you love the fact they exist on the market, or hate that we live in a world where this type of application that we usually need to have installed on our machine, file viewers are a vital part of any computer.
File viewers are still live and mostly because the one thing – they works and they are mostly free! For those who does not know what this kind of application do, I will give you a simple answer: File Viewers are an applications that open documents or a projects created with software you do not have installed on your system.
You can not edit or change the content on these files – and that is why they are only “viewers”. They can be a very useful to have installed on any system if you do not have that required software installed to run that file with.
Microsoft Office Viewers
- Word Viewer – View, print and copy Word documents, even if you don’t have Word installed. An official Microsoft Viewer.
- TextMaker Viewer – Lets you open, view, and print documents created with Microsoft Word 6.0 to 2007, TextMaker as well as OpenDocument and other common office file formats.
- Excel Viewer – Open, view, and print Excel workbooks. Same as the above viewer but open Excel files from 97 to 2007 versions.
- PowerPoint Viewer – Microsoft Office PowerPoint Viewer 2007 lets you view full-featured presentations created in PowerPoint 97 and later versions.
- Visio 2007 Viewer – allows anyone to view Visio drawings and diagrams (created with Visio 5.0, 2000, 2002, 2003, or 2007) inside their Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later Web browser.
Adobe Product Viewers
- PDF Reader – Maybe you already have this application installed. Just to know – this is just the typical viewer which opens popular PDF files easily.
- Photoshop PSD Viewer – Except Adobe Photoshop, PSD image files now can be opened with PSD viewer. Can be a very useful for anyone!
- Foxit PDF Reader – Foxit Reader is a free PDF document viewer, with incredible small size, breezing-fast launch speed and rich feature set.
- Adobe SVG Viewer – It is actually a web browser plug-in for viewing SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) images within websites. Available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS systems.
Other Viewers
- RAW Image Viewer for WinXP – Provides the ability to view, organize, and print photos captured in RAW image formats from supported Canon and Nikon digital cameras.
- Canon RAW Codec for Win7 and Vista – By default, you can not open or view SLR RAW format images, but by installing this driver you will have that option.
- Universal Viewer – Universal Viewer is an advanced file viewer with wide range of formats supported. Supporting text, internet, multimedia, plug-ins, office and many other file types.
- ComicRack Reader – Read your eComics the way you want: Fast navigation, auto scrolling, auto rotation, dynamic zooming, automatic page fitting and much more!
- Comical – CBR and CBZ reader for Windows and Mac OS systems. Comical is an easy-to-use, full-featured GUI comic book viewer in open-source.
- Autodesk DWG TrueView – It is a stand-alone DWG viewer with DWG TrueConvert software. Build on the same viewing engine as AutoCad software and completely free to use!
