How to Speed Up Mozilla Firefox Browser


Mozilla Firefox is the second most popular web browser currently available on the market. It’s an open-source application available for all popular operating systems. It’s free, fully customizable and one of the fastest web browsers available on the internet.

Did you know that you actually can make your Firefox to be much fastest? If you don’t know how, this is the right place where you should find how to improve your Firefox browsing experience. Please note that all below tricks actually works on my computer, with a broadband cable connection. It doesn’t mean that they will work for you. Anyway, it’s always good to try them out and see what’s going to happen.

Speed Up Mozilla Firefox Browser

Follow the below steps to easily improve your browsing speed under Mozilla Firefox web browser. It’s important to know that these improvement tips should work for all Mozilla Firefox browser versions.

Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter > I’ll be careful, I Promise! button

Filter the network.http.pipelining term and set it to TRUE

Then, find network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and set it to value 24

Then you should add the new integer into your Firefox core. You can do that by clicking anywhere and choosing the New>Integer from the dropdown menu.

You should name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set it to value 0

The above tips can be effective into your browsing speed and can drastically improve your browsing experience through this browser. If you want more improvements, I’ve found some tricks that can be useful too.

Fix Firefox Memory Leak

To use this trick, you should add the new integer with following values:

browser.cache.memory.capacity

Value for this integer is dedicated from how much do you want Firefox to allocate on your computer. Of course, this depends on how much RAM your computer has. Generally, this value shouldn’t be less than 8 Mb.

If you want to set it to 16 Mb type 16384 as value and if you want 32 Mb for allocation, type in 32768.

Enable the Spellchecker

By the default, Firefox spellchecker ability can work only with the textareas. Use this trick to enable it for the inputfields too. Can be very useful for some users.

Change layout.spellcheck value to 2
